Financial Contributions
With Property prices ever increasing it is often the case that family members help their loved ones by contributing towards the purchase of property.
Unfortunately disputes often arise as to whether any financial contributions were a loan and should be repaid or a gift.
In some situations it may have been agreed that a contribution would result in a share in ownership of the property.
What is common to such disputes is that invariably the agreement has not been recorded in writing and the family now find themselves in the position where the property has now been left under a Will to someone else.
Promises
Promises may be enforceable in specific circumstances.
If you have been promised property by the deceased and you have acted upon that promise then you may be able to enforce that promise against the beneficiary of the property.
